CrossRoads endeavors to match every person with the right counselor, regardless of what they can afford. In the field of mental health, those with the most complex mental health problems often see the least experienced counselors. What's worse, they often find that the counselor they've developed a relationship with moves on to a better paying position within a few months. This causes the client to become stuck in a revolving door of care, deepening attachment wounds, and seldom making more than minimal progress. CrossRoads is committed to hiring the best therapists, paying them a competitive wage, while creating scholarship funds that allow us to see each person's unique need and link them with the right therapeutic fit to create an optimal healing environment.

In 2018, CrossRoads conducted over 9,000 counseling sessions and discounted $180,000 in counseling fees to make counseling accessible for clients who could not afford quality clinical counseling. In addition, we distributed over $7,832 in scholarship money to economically disadvantaged clients who required a high-level of skilled care in order to heal from the ravages of trauma and mental illness. We continue to see the diversity of our clientele growing, both culturally and socioeconomically, as we intentionally take steps to make our counseling services available to people who have not been able to afford consistent, quality, counseling services.

The money you donate will help support our work to:
-Support a CrossRoads Counseling satellite office in the city of St. Louis that provides high quality counseling to residents living near the Delmar Divide with scholarship funds provided to those in need
-Provide trauma and attachment focused therapy to clients in rural Illinois
-Provide support and skills groups to caregivers of loved ones with severe mental illness
-Train counselors to serve abroad- taking strong clinical counseling skills to under-served areas of the world
-Allow us to provide counseling support to community organizations experiencing crisis
