Imagine St. Louis as a vibrant community where every individual has access to resources, education, and social connections essential for their growth and development. A city not only known for its sports, and toasted ravioli, but also as a place where people have the opportunity to live life as they pictured it.  Imagine if the St. Louis we know and love wasn't known for its issues, but became valued for its opportunities, authentic relationships, and ability to address problems of the past, present, and future. 

Da Hood Connect is on a mission to make this vision a reality, one community at a time.  

About Da Hood Connect, Inc. 

Da Hood Connect (DHC) is a nonprofit organization that was created from an observed need for cross-cutting support for Black and under-resourced communities. Since its birth 1.5 years ago, DHC has partnered with longstanding non-profits, educational institutions, black-owned businesses, community leaders and community members to identify, understand, and address the needs of Black communities in ways that uplift the experiences of those hurting, healing, and helping.

New to This, but True to This:

In 2023: we got knee deep in strategic planning and board formation. We held a couple community-oriented fundraisers (one involving a karaoke duet from some founding board members), and supported community connection building and creativity through our Arts in Da Park Event. 

In 2024: we started getting busy (and its only MAY)!! We've done so much, it feels better to put it in a list:

• Partnered with Da Hood Talks Podcast, LLC. as a community-centered engagement tool for sparking community connections, improvements, and getting to know the people we serve.
• Partnered with Generate Health to expand the podcast beyond the studio, offering in-person opportunities for community members, professionals, local businesses and social support agencies to convene, learn, and discuss pressing issues as part of a Community Panel Discussion Series.  
• Partnered with the St. Louis Chapter of the UMSL Coro Fellows to develop a St. Louis-Based Community-Engagement Workshop for organizations and individuals, dedicated to serving communities of color.

Like we said... ITS ONLY MAY!

We've done so much in 2024, but have more to give. As we prepare to complete our live podcast series in July (You should come check us out!), we are looking forward to supporting the podcast's regularly scheduled programming which is dedicated to healing, advocacy, and education in Black Communities.  

We look forward to hosting and supporting Arts in Da Park and other family-friendly community-based events to keep us connected throughout the summer.

We are also extremely excited to put finishing touches on our community engagement workshop, "Beyond Intent". 'The Workshop' tab explains a little more about what great effort we've put into it thus far. (P.S this is brand new, we think it's sweet our supporters hear about it first).

We want these efforts to be as impactful as possible, reaching people and communities that have been forgotten, overlooked, or left behind. At Da Hood Connect, we are devoted to giving voice to the unheard; however, we also want turn our words into action, and WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP!
