Help us celebrate 50 Years of Chris Collins Dance Studio!!!

Since 1975, Chris Collins Dance Studio has served Alexandria and the region, fostering a love of artistry and athleticism in young dancers (ages 4-18) through our competitive Dance Company. The Dance Company Parent Association (DCPA), a 501(c)(3) organization, is raising funds to help send dancers to competitions, conventions, workshops, and associated activities. Through fundraising, we award annual scholarships to performers, making the opportunity to dance more accessible to families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate. We are looking for businesses to help us meet our goals.

The Dance Company teaches students invaluable lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and confidence. Through the studio, children learn to support each other through beautiful performances and unfortunate slips. The dancers master balancing rigorous dance schedules with schoolwork in a body-positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

We invite you to support our dedicated dancers while gaining fantastic visibility for your business throughout our community! Your tax-deductible contribution will directly fund our student programming and scholarship efforts.

Chris Collins Dance Studio (CCDS) has been in Alexandria and serving Northern Virginia dancers since 1975. The studio offers instruction in multiple dance genres and across all age groups. As the studio heads into its 50th year of dancing, we are calling on the Alexandria community to support and nurture the artistic talent of aspiring dancers and promote education in our community.

The Dance Company Parent Association (DCPA) was formed to support the CCDS dance company by fundraising to support the team costs of competitions, conventions, and workshops for the competitive dance company and to provide scholarships for recreational dance students presented at the end of year recital each year.

Members of the dance company, ages 6-18, learn the importance of teamwork and perseverance as they work together, cheer each other when they find success, and comfort each other when things don’t go their way.

As the parents organization, we work to support our children as they grow in confidence, on and off stage and we offer scholarships to expand our dance community. We hope that you’ll also consider supporting these artists and supporting the dance arts community in Alexandria!

Who We Are

The Dance Company Parent Association helps curtail the costs of competitions, conventions and workshops. The Association also provides two scholarships to students at the recital each year for the following year. This year, the Company is also working hard to raise money for a trip to Walt Disney World, which is planned over the summer. While there, the students will perform their dances on the Disney World Campus as well as take workshops from several Disney cast members.

Our dancers learn the importance of teamwork and perseverance. They learn to work together, aid and cheer each other when they find success, but also comfort a partner when an error is made. We watch them grow in confidence as each day passes, and are proud to "measure their success in smiles."
