Giving Extra, Getting Extra

There's a lot that we can never predict from one day to the next, but we can predict that the ExtraGive makes a huge difference for the dogs at DVGRR!

The ExtraGive is critical to our mission of rescuing dogs and providing top-quality care and all the extras.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means providing top-quality food. Yes, it's more expensive, but we've seen how this "extra" improves bloodwork, keeps skin and ear issues away, and keeps the dogs healthier and happier.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means our staff, working 365 days a year, can give the dogs a consistent structure and schedule, meaning extra outside play, extra training, and extra TLC.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means using veterinary specialists when dogs arrive with ectopic ureters, liver shunts, and neurological disorders (just to name a few) that require advanced care.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means traveling far and near to pick up dogs in need of rescue and giving them a safe ride to their new lives.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means stocking our onsite BARK hospital with the inventory needed for basic surgeries and procedures, including supplies and medication.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means maintaining our Sanctuary for puppy mill survivors, giving them a head start to adjusting to life in a normal home. It's an extra we provide that most rescues can't.

When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

That means spending the time and effort needed to groom the dogs when they arrive (often with matted fur) and again throughout their stay with us.

We provide extraordinary care for every dog that enters our program and do so for the length of their stay, however long that may be. Your generosity during the ExtraGive means we can continue to go above and beyond for the dogs!

We're a recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit, and we receive no government funding to support our mission. Every dollar we take in comes from donations, memberships, fundraising events and initiatives, and proceeds from our retail store. The money we generate during the ExtraGive makes a world of difference for the dogs.

It's simple: When you give extra, the dogs get extra.

Thank you to our ExtraGive Sponsors:

And thanks to Jim and Pat Kermes, there is a very generous match campaign, in honor of their dog, Sophia, DVGRR alumni (17-320) that will take place on Friday. Every donation received between 7:00 a.m. and 1:59 p.m. will be matched (up to $20,000). Thanks to them, you can double your donation!

If you have any problems or questions about your donation, please contact Karen at 717-484-4799 or karen@dvgrr.org
Our mission is simple: Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue provides new beginnings for displaced Golden Retrievers and other golden-hearted dogs along with a full array of adoptive and educational support for the adopters and broader community.

Who We Are

Since 1993, Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue has successfully placed over 5,000 Golden Retrievers and other DVGRR dogs into new homes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and beyond. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization relying on donations, our supporters, fundraising, and the proceeds of our events and online and on-site retail store, Pap’s Place, for funding.

DVGRR has been recognized for our innovative work in rescuing and rehabilitating puppy mill breeder dogs. The Project Home Life program, implemented in 2009, works with puppy mill survivors to help them transition successfully from the horrors of life in a puppy mill to a normal home life with a loving family.
