Delaware Riverkeeper Network

A nonprofit organization

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network (DRN) champions the rights of our communities to a Delaware River and tributary streams that are free-flowing, clean, healthy, and abundant with a diversity of life. Since our founding in 1988, DRN has grown into a leading environmental organization with the ability to provide effective environmental advocacy, analyze technical studies and agency materials, implement cutting edge scientific studies, and enforce compliance with environmental laws. We are the only environmental organization to work throughout the four states of the Watershed (NY, NJ, PA, and DE) and at the federal level when issues that impact the health of our Watershed play out on a national stage. For over 30 years, the role of Delaware Riverkeeper has been held by Maya van Rossum. Under van Rossum’s guidance, DRN has grown into a leading environmental organization with the ability to provide effective environmental advocacy, analyze technical studies and agency materials, implement cutting edge monitoring projects, and enforce compliance with environmental laws. DRN is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) membership organization.

As a community-based watershed organization, every gift we receive has a profound impact on our ability to continue our work. With only 3% of all giving in this country going to support environmental, conservation, and animal related causes - combined - every dollar makes a real difference. There
are other worthy causes seeking your support at this time, but an investment in the Delaware Riverkeeper Network is one of the
most important charitable investments you can make.

By making a gift to the Delaware Riverkeeper Network you are helping support this Delaware County work and much more–

  • Drafting and providing testimony at public hearings and submitting written comments regarding Monroe Energy and Energy Transfer Marketing Partners facilities in Marcus Hook

  • Holding webinars, protests, and calling on government officials to stop the Mid-Atlantic Hydrogen Hub (MACH2) project

  • Providing technical and community outreach support on PHL west Cargo Expansion, Cobbs Creek Golf Course development, proposed artificial turf threats, and the 51st Street chromium spill that closed a portion of Bartram's Garden Mile Trail

  • Partnering with and providing technical assistance to community and regional groups in the Darby, Crum, and Cobbs Creek Watersheds to curve stormwater and flooding threats
