Gateway to Oral Health Foundation

Minority and underserved populations continue to lead in health disparities. According to the National Institute of Health dental caries remain the most prevalent chronic disease among children and adults, even though it is largely preventable. For more than 2 decades the Gateway to Oral Health Foundation has provided comprehensive dental care to underserved children and youth within the St. Louis community. Dental services are provided within schools utilizing dental vans or portable dental equipment. By meeting the children where they are parents need not take off work, family transportation issues are eliminated, time out of class for children is reduced, and failed appointments are eliminate. Dental care is provided to our children regardless of their ability to pay. GTOHF is therefore committed to reaching these at risk-groups.
