DePaul Community Health Centers

A nonprofit organization

THANK YOU for visiting our #iGiveCatholic / Giving Tuesday Page!

Give back to Ascension DePaul Foundation New Orleans, formerly Daughters of Charity Foundation New Orleans, the philanthropic advocate for DePaul Community Health Centers. Together, we carry on the legacy of the Daughters of Charity, who gave so much to the people of New Orleans!
DePaul Community Health Centers, formerly Daughters of Charity Health Centers, mirrors the Daughters’ legacy today by serving the poorest and most vulnerable in our community, improving their lives through high-quality, compassionate health care, education, social and pastoral ministries.
This Giving Tuesday, we are focusing our efforts on raising funds for our Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Prescription Assistance Fund. This Fund is available for patients at our pharmacies who need help covering the cost of their prescription medication. Will you join our mission to provide for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay?

Who We Are

Ascension DePaul Services of New Orleans (ADSNO) mirrors the work of our founders, the Daughters of Charity, who began their health ministry in New Orleans in 1834 at Charity Hospital. They later founded Hotel Dieu Hospital in 1959. The sale of Hotel Dieu Hospital to the State of Louisiana in 1992 marked the beginning of a new approach to health services – a focus on primary care and prevention.

The transition from a hospital to a community health ministry fostered development of Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans (DCSNO). Following destruction of the Carrollton health care center by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, DCSNO, which became ADSNO in 2019, has focused on expanding sites and services to provide much needed health care to greater New Orleans residents with continued focus on the poor and vulnerable. With 10 community health centers, operating as DePaul Community Health Centers, ADSNO has been able to provide health care and health education throughout the community.
