David Fairchild Elementary PTA

Since 1955, DFE has been educating young minds and has been an important part of the fabric of our community. Our PTA works hard to support our teachers and students so that as our motto says, DFE continues to be "A Nice Place to Grow."

During the 2022-2023 school year, our PTA has stayed committed to helping our students, teachers, and administration.

Thanks to all your generous support, last year we were able to do the major renovations our beloved Twiglet Bank Caboose needed. Twiglet Bank is a very unique and special part of David Fairchild Elementary where our students can learn about saving and depositing money into their very own real bank account. Also our PTA bought new PE equipment like soccer goals and multi purpose nets.

We continued to improve our outdoor classroom by adding more sitting and shade where teachers and students can benefit from the outdoor environment while learning.

Our goal this year is to continue to support all major PTA Sponsor Programs: 

1. Reading Program: Promote lifelong reading skills in all the kids and incentivize the love and joy for reading. This program includes: Accelerated Reader Program, Birthday Book Club, Lunch Bunch, Book Fair, and support to our Media Center.
2. Fitness, and Mental Health Program: Promote a holistic healthy lifestyle emphasizing the importance of kids' physical and mental health. This program includes: Field Day, Challenge to Change, Field Trips and our new Mindfulness Series with kids received: Yoga, Breathing exercises and concentration.
3. Community Development and Curriculum Program: Promote activities that cultivate a bigger sense of community and enrich our kid’s development. This program includes: support to extra curricular clubs like: Botany Club, Twiglet Bank, Student Council, Safety Patrols, WKID (Internal School TV Show), Community Events, Recycling Program among others.
