Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas

Diamond Dachshund Rescue is committed to providing a difference you can see in the lives of dachshunds in need. For more than 22 years, DDRTX has been a staple in South Central Texas, providing homes and life saving care to abandoned, unwanted, and needy dachshunds. In those years, we have taken in hundreds of dogs and helped complete hundreds of families. 

During 2024, with the help of critical donations from Big Give, DDRTX was able to make a significant difference you can see. The Big Give fundraiser was imperative for our veterinary expenses. Below is a snapshot of what 2024 looked like thanks to donors like yourself. 

Who Are We?

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a nonprofit organization located in South Central Texas and is dedicated to the health, welfare and happiness of dachshunds. We are based in San Antonio, Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. As such, we must rely heavily on donations and contributions, which are necessary in order to continue to be able to pay the cost of veterinary care and other necessary expenses for each of our dachshunds. Diamond Dachshund Rescue has rescued, rehabilitated and placed between 100 to 200 dachshunds each year since our incorporation in 2003. Our goal is to find the right home for each dog's individual personality and needs.

We are based in Central and South Central Texas and have volunteers in many parts of Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. As such, we must rely heavily on donations and contributions, which are a necessity in order to continue to be able to pay the costs of veterinary care and other necessary expenses for each of our dachshunds. Diamond Dachshund has rescued, rehabilitated and placed from 100 to 200 dachshunds each year since our incorporation in 2003. We strive to find the right home for each dog's individual personality and needs so that the placement is permanent and both the dogs and the families who adopt them are equally happy.
