Diana Gregory Outreach Services Presents: Veggies For Veterans

Diana Gregory Outreach Services is proud to host Veggies For Veterans, a community outreach event dedicated to honoring and supporting our local veterans through access to fresh, healthy produce and wellness resources. This special event is designed to give back to those who have served by providing nutritious vegetables, community support, and valuable information about available services and programs.

Veterans and their families are invited to enjoy a welcoming environment filled with fresh food distribution, fellowship, health awareness resources, and community connections. Our mission is to promote healthier living while expressing gratitude for the sacrifices veterans have made for our country.

Through partnerships with local farms, food suppliers, volunteers, and community organizations, the program distributes fresh vegetables and nutritious food items to veterans in need. These bags of food also contain "Thank You" letters from children expressing their appreciation to our veterans for their service to our nation. The veterans love reading the children's letters, while the children gain valuable skills in literacy, vocabulary, and writing.

The Veggies For Veterans Program is an ongoing initiative by Diana Gregory Outreach Services focused on improving food accessibility and promoting healthy lifestyles among veterans and military families. For more than a decade, the program has provided free, fresh produce to veterans and their families, with over 24,000 served since its inception. The program, is hosted at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center, and other easily accessible Phoenix locations. Veggies For Veterans reflects our commitment to serving those who served us by ensuring veterans have access to healthy foods, encouragement, and compassionate community care.

Together, we are strengthening our community one family at a time through compassion, nourishment, and service.

The program aims to:

• Support veterans facing food insecurity
• Encourage healthy eating and wellness habits
• Connect veterans with community resources and support services
• Foster unity, appreciation, and community engagement
