Legal Aid of Nebraska

A nonprofit organization

Legal Aid of Nebraska stands with those facing justice alone - defending rights, confronting injustice, restoring hope, and opening doors to opportunity. We provide information, referrals, advice, self-help services, and representation to qualifying low-income individuals with civil legal issues.

We makes equal justice happen for low-income Nebraskans. As the only statewide civil legal aid provider offering free services, we receive around 1,900+ calls a month from people requesting assistance. Nearly 270,000 Nebraskans are eligible for assistance, many living at or under the poverty line.

Legal Aid of Nebraska is the only statewide provider of direct and free civil legal services across all 93 counties. Legal Aid of Nebraska employs over 80 people in seven office locations: Bancroft, Grand Island, Lincoln, Norfolk, North Platte, Omaha, and Scottsbluff. Our expansive reach across every county of the state provides us with a singular view on the realities facing Nebraska’s poor and vulnerable communities.

Legal Aid of Nebraska helps Nebraskans understand their rights and obtain quality legal counsel and advocacy.

Our attorneys, paralegals and support staff assist our clients through professional expertise and compassion. When our clients come to us in crisis, we strive to provide them with support, information, and encouragement.

We make equal justice happen.
