Dramatic Results approaches programs with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art (writing, photography, design, drawing, theater, and so much more), and Math as pathways to spark inquiry, discussions, and critical thinking. Our programs align with Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and Visual and Performing Arts standards, using Design Thinking and iterative strategies to strengthen students' communication and collaboration skills while sparking creativity and imagination. Our programs show students how classroom concepts appear in the real world and allow them to make connections to the real world. Our goal is to increase students' sense of curiosity and, over time, increase their confidence and creativity within any field.

Half of Dramatic Results' programs are delivered in-class, as a regular part of students' school day, while the other half of programs are delivered outside of school time through a community collaboration among STEAM professionals, serving gifted middle school students from Title I schools year-round.

The agency's programs are led by Teaching Artists, professional artists and makers. Students explore classroom curriculum, learn to identify problems, find unique solutions, and lead their own learning in a fun and creative environment. Students learn, free from the constraints of a traditional classroom, and are encouraged to make mistakes. Dramatic Results values failure, along with reinvention, as a key part of the learning process.

Dramatic Results is recognized as a national "model among models in arts education" by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Innovation and Improvement for our program design, outcomes in students' academic performance, and professional development. Additionally, Dramatic Results is the only grantee in California to receive the Department of Education's Art in Education funding six times (2003-2026). Dramatic Results has presented at the California Department of Education's STEAM Symposium, California Science Education Conference, National and California Arts Education Association, Arts Education Partnership, and the Joint Mathematics Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America.

Testimonials

"This was my first year working with Dramatic Results and its Teaching Artists. The program went beyond my expectations as the Teaching Artists were so engaging that I even found myself engrossed in the activities and discussions. I found the program very informative, while also being very fun and engaging for the students." - Ms. Lu, 2nd grade teacher

"The sense of pride our students have developed while creating their self-portraits is priceless. They have not only a pride in the work they have created but also a sense of pride in themselves. Dramatic Results has shown my students that they all have value and deserve to be seen!" - Ms. Alonzo, 4th grade teacher

"In school I'd get feedback on things and I'd get upset when they'd tell me to change what I was doing. But the way they talked about feedback in the [Dramatic Results] program made me realize that it's good to make changes and try different things." - 6th grade student
