Drexel Prep Foundation

The mission of the Drexel Prep Foundation is to continue the legacy of St Katharine Drexel and Xavier University Preparatory in support of St. Katharine Drexel Prep School. This year we hope to continue our goal of helping revitalize the athletics department with continued contributions to the gymnasium as well as to the needs of our student athletes.

Our student athletes and their coaches have done so well with so little. The teams have won LA State basketball and track championships despite little funding and few resources. Their gym is in need of repairs and renovations. The scoreboard needs to be replaced as does the air conditioning system. The girls practice and play winning seasons in a gym too small to meet the LHSAA requirements to host games. The track team has no field. While making facility improvements and additions are of the highest priority, DPF would also like to reward the 2018 SKDP Yellow Jackets, the Louisiana High School Sports Associations Marsh Madness Girls Basketball State Division III Champions. Because of a limited athletic budget and diminished fundraising seasons, the girls have received nothing to commemorate their victory. Ideally this would be the time!

"The Prep Band was more than just a marching band. There was also a concert band and we learned music in its totality: reading notes, understanding timing, and executing full orchestrations. Also my senses of discipline and team work were honed under the direction of Prep's infamous band director, Mr. Raymond Jones."
