Downtown Women’s Center changes lives — one woman at a time.

Here at Downtown Women’s Center (DWC), we are so grateful to report that our newly renovated Haven House Too entry shelter is complete. This newest shelter is for women who are pregnant or have children with them and who are new in substance recovery. Haven House Too has been full since we opened the doors in February 2025! The need is great for moms in recovery to learn how to be a good mom to their children while living clean and sober lives.

During the fiscal year ending August 31, 2025, DWC served 94 women and 106 children through our DWC Recovery Program. Of the 11 women who graduated from our Recovery Program in October 2024 and February 2025, 100% are still clean and sober, by the grace of God and a lot of hard work!

What makes this Thanksgiving special for our 75 women and children living in our four shelters today? They are living clean and sober lives!
Their children do not ever have to see their moms drink or use other drugs again. Chains are being broken!

People in recovery know how important it is to have gratitude – especially for the important things like having a safe place to live, a job, unconditional love, and getting their families back. What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving?
