In 1932 the Clay County Federation of Women’s Clubs decided that the residents of Clay County needed a library.  With a total of 14 books, the library was housed in the women’s restroom on the courthouse square, thus began the Clay County Library.  As the library grew in volumes the library was moved to the old jail building known as “the Calaboose,” and which is now an historical exhibit at the Pioneer Grounds.  In 1952 Dr. A. B. Edwards and his sons, Bryan and Kirk, donated the land and monies to build a new thirty by forty foot library building for Clay County in memory of Mrs. Bettie M. Edwards and the library was renamed the Edwards Public Library.  Later on the Edwards family continued their donation to expand and renovate the library to its present size of 5,052 square feet.  The Edwards public library serves all the residents of Clay County and the surrounding areas since then.  Services that the library provides to all it's resident.

The Edwards Public Library has various Children's programs: which include Summer Reading Program, Weekly Wednesday Morning Storytime, Movies @ The Library and our new Discovery Table, which can be enjoyed at no cost.  Having these programs allow our youth, to enjoy learning, discovering new things and creating. Planning these programs cost the library about $3,000 a year for presenter to perform in the summer, incentive for prizes, arts and craft supplies and much much more.

We would love for you to consider the Edwards Public Library's Children's Programs for your Texoma Gives donation.  Thank you for you future generous donation.
