Eureka Search and Rescue

A nonprofit organization

The Eureka Search and Rescue Team consists of canine, ground, drone, and communications elements. The team is comprised of approximately 45 volunteer members from all walks of life.
The team was formed in 2002 after the Eureka Fire Protection District recognized that there was a need for trained volunteers when searching for lost and missing persons. It has grown from a mounted only unit to a multi-disciplined, self-sufficient search and rescue team with its own communications, support, planning and incident management personnel.
The team has extensive knowledge and experience in search & rescue, incident command, search operations, communications, canine search, and functioning in multi-operational periods. Upon request, the team is available to provide training to command staff and first responders of regional public safety and civilian response organizations.
Whether you seek advice early in a missing person incident or if you require the knowledge and full resources of the team, Eureka Search & Rescue is available to respond, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
