Ellas Umbrella

Ella's Umbrella was established after the unexpected death of 13-month-old Ella Mertens. She died from an undiagnosed heart defect. The goal is to make something positive come from this tragedy by protecting other children and their families. Our support of pediatric cardiology research is accomplished through partnering with St. Louis Children's Hospital (and their Children's Discovery Institute). Our technology research is accomplished through partnering with The Ollie Hinkle Foundation (and their Take Heart Collective), and our support for grieving people comes through the creation and distribution of resources (like the books, Unraveled: When Loss Changes Everything, and Never Far Apart), and partnership with organizations like Just Enduring (and their Kid Like You program).
