As a result, the mental health and wellness needs of individuals, families, and couples are on the rise. Equine Reflections, a nonprofit organization located in Folsom, Louisiana, is responding in a unique and powerful way. The magic of their method is in their motto: HORSES HELPING HEARTS AND MINDS!
Using rehabilitated rescue horses in partnership with credentialed professionals, Equine Reflections offers equine-assisted therapy and learning activities. This interactive experience promotes self-awareness, strengthens resilience, and inspires hope. No riding is involved, and no horse experience is necessary.
You may be asking, WHY HORSES? Horses are majestic animals that can connect deeply with people. As herd animals, horses are innately sensitive to emotions and social cues. Their perceptions allow them to reflect information in the present moment in a non-judgemental way.
