Dear Friend of Fairness,

Because of you, we stopped every anti-LGBTQ bill in Frankfort this year. Your voice, your advocacy, and your fight for Fairness made our success possible. But it wasn’t easy, and next year will be just as tough in the Kentucky General Assembly.

This year our opponents attacked drag performers, local Fairness Ordinances, and attempted to create  broad exemptions for healthcare workers to discriminate against LGBTQ patients. They couldn’t gain an inch as we mobilized supporters to the capitol to stop them at every turn.

You can help us build our movement as we prepare for another challenging legislative session, and you can double your impact on LGBTQ rights in Kentucky during this year’s Give for Good Louisville.

Thanks to an incredibly generous anonymous donor, every dollar you give to the Fairness Education Fund (our 501c3 organization) will be matched dollar for dollar to the Fairness Campaign (our 501c4 lobbying arm) up to $50,000!

You could help us raise $100,000 total for LGBTQ public education and advocacy in Kentucky, which will help us continue showing up at every Pride festival in our commonwealth, mobilizing folks to Frankfort, and engaging our supporters in this important election.

Will you join us with a gift today of any amount significant to you? Consider giving $2,500, $250, or $25 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Louisville’s Fairness Ordinance this year.

Thank you for fighting to protect LGBTQ Kentuckians at every turn. We truly couldn’t do this work without you.

Sincerely,

Chris Hartman, he/him
Executive Director

P.S. Mark your calendars for the 2025 Statewide Fairness Rally and Lobby Day in Frankfort—Wednesday, February 19, 2025!

Who We Are

The Fairness Campaign is Kentucky’s LGBTQ advocacy organization founded in 1991 by 10 Louisvillians. Its primary goal is comprehensive civil rights legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and to dismantle systemic racism.

With the help of the Fairness Campaign, 24 Kentucky communities have enacted Fairness Ordinances prohibiting LGBTQ discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations, including the state’s two largest cities—Louisville and Lexington—the capital Frankfort, and small Appalachian town of Vicco. Today, the Fairness Campaign works in communities all across Kentucky to advance LGBTQ rights and acceptance through legislative advocacy and public education.
