Families Helping Families Region 7

Families Helping Families Region 7 is a local 501 c3 family directed resource center for individuals with disabilities and their families. We serve the parishes of Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster. Our mission is to provide information, referral, trainings/workshops, and peer to peer support to individuals with disabilities or special needs and their families. We are a group of families who, through our own experiences, promote peer support and advocacy and are committed to alleviating hardships of other families who have members with disabilities or special needs. Caring for individuals with a disability takes a wealth of support, knowledge and information, and connecting with others who have similar experiences gives families firsthand information and encouragement. Families Helping Families Region 7 is affiliated with the Statewide Family Resource Network which has established family-directed centers in every region of Louisiana.  These centers are unique because they are directed and staffed by parents and family members of individuals with disabilities or special needs.

Since 2008, FHF Region 7 has served over 45,000 individuals with disabilities and community members in understanding the rights of those with disabilities. We are dedicated to training parents and professionals on their parental rights, education laws, as well as supporting parents through one on one consultation(in person, phone calls, emails, and Zoom). Our Information and Referral services provides a variety of information/services on disabilities and we do refer individuals to other organizations for other needed services within Region 7. Together we can make a better community for all individuals.
