Who We Are

The Family Services Association of Boyle County is a private non-profit human services agency. We are supported by private donors, the city and county government, local churches, and Heart of Kentucky United Way. 

What We Do

The mission of the Family Services Association is to provide short-term financial assistance to low-income individuals in Boyle County who are experiencing a temporary financial emergency.  FSA also helps these individuals to find other programs and services that can contribute to their financial stability.

What Kind of Help is Available?

When funding allows, we are able to provide:

• payments toward housing


• payments toward essential utilities (electricity, gas, water)


• assistance toward medical needs

We also provide money management and employability seminars, as well as referrals for additional services.

History of Organization

The Family Services Association of Boyle County was established June 1, 1916. For many years, it was the primary welfare agency for Boyle County. Throughout its long history, Family Services has participated in many collaborative efforts in the community which address a variety of issues such as health care, food distribution, education, job training, employability, and financial management. The ability to be versatile and changes services based on the needs of the community can be attributed to the type of funding we receive. Without the "red tape" that some agencies must adhere to, we are able to provide creative and effective ways to promote financial stability and self-sufficiency tailored to the changing needs of Danville and Boyle County residents.
