Imagine packing your life into a single bag, unsure where you will sleep tonight, but knowing you cannot stay where you are. For many families in the Texas Panhandle, this is the heartbreaking reality of family violence. Our area faces a domestic violence rate three times higher than the state average, and that is a problem we cannot ignore.

At Family Support Services of Amarillo, we meet people in their darkest moments and walk with them toward safety and healing. 

For more than 117 years, we have served and supported survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and over time have expanded our services to empower veterans, children, and families in need of extra support through counseling, parent education, and much more.  

When a devastating fire destroyed our main facility in 2020, it tested our strength. Yet through determination and the support of our community, we continued to serve more than 25,000 people last year. The need never stopped, and neither did we.
