Family Counseling Service

The purpose of this organization shall be to strengthen children, individuals, and families by providing professional therapy, education, advocacy, and other supportive services in response to community needs.

Family Counseling Service has served the Coastal Bend since 1942. We have a long history of addressing community needs. Every year, we see an overwhelming number of individuals, children, and families reaching out for services. In many cases, clients contact us seeking services for their entire family. This is a reflection of the immense need for mental health services in the Coastal Bend. FCS has continuously stayed focused on the best way to meet this need, and we continue to see the impact of our services. In many cases, our clients have nowhere else to turn to for mental health services. Many are uninsured or underinsured and have fewer options for accessing the help they need. Funds raised during the Coastal Bend Day of Giving allow us to continue meeting those mental health needs, regardless of a client's ability to pay.

In addition to mental health services, FCS has a Crime Victim Services program that provides assistance to victims of violent crime and their families. Our caring Victim Advocates provide needs assessment, crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, follow-up, and information and referral in order to assist victims with their healing process.
