The Family Place

Make a gift to support children and families in the Upper Valley and your donation will be doubled!

Becoming
a parent is an exciting, challenging, and rewarding journey. Every parent or
caregiver can benefit from the support of people in their community along the
way. The Family Place’s dedicated and experienced staff are providing that
supportive role for families across the Upper Valley throughout the year.

Harlei first connected with The Family Place when she was a young mom, and her oldest son (13)
was born. He attended our 5 STAR Early Care and Education Program in Norwich, while
Harlei received support completing her education and building her parenting
skills.

Harlei’s daughter (6) was born with a rare genetic disorder that resulted in a
disability. Through our Early Intervention program, their family was able to
receive speech therapy and nutrition education from our skilled staff in their
home.  We also connected them with physical
and occupational therapy through our partners at Upper Valley Rehab.

“We had a phenomenal case manager who tied all (our daughter’s) services
together and made sure we were meeting our goals. Our team from The Family
Place helped us find the confidence to not only care for our daughter but
also give her every normal childhood experience that we could.”

Harlie’s
youngest son (2) also received support from The Family Place when he was
diagnosed with a developmental delay. “His speech therapist is wonderful and
even travels to his daycare to work with him in the classroom.”

Harlei
now provides a voice for families like hers through our Family Advisory
Committee. “It’s my way of giving back to an organization that does so much
for my family and my community.”

Harlei’s
family is one of many that benefit from support from The Family Place
throughout the year. Last year, we partnered with more than 1,500 children and families in New Hampshire and Vermont, providing them with comprehensive programs and resources
to help them reach their goals and thrive. The support of generous community
members like you helps make the work we do possible.
