Family Promise of Bryan-College Station

Family Promise is an area-wide faith-based, non-profit ministry that supports families with children by providing shelter, meals, and support services as they work towards self-sufficiency.

Family Promise provides safe environments where children can remain with their parents while families work toward achieving sustainable independence. Families participate in budgeting and parenting classes as well as healthy eating classes. These classes are provided by community organizations as well as volunteers from our support churches. Our volunteer congregations provide meals, overnight hosts, tutors, and after dinner activities for families.

We have a 100% track record of families graduating Family Promise to their own homes. A two-year follow-up program provides in-home case management, supporting families as they continue their self-sufficiency journey.

A single dad and his four-year-old daughter were referred to Family Promise by a church pastor. After his relationship ended, he found himself homeless after going from a two-income household to one. The small family entered with a plan to find an apartment that fits their budget. With a job already in place, it was a matter of securing a landlord that gave second chances. The single dad was able to find just what he needed to get back on his feet and begin this new chapter. In less than a month, the family will move to a new place to call home. The daughter absolutely loves being at Family Promise. She likes the toys, books, and playing with children from the other families in the program.
