First Teacher

First Teacher is an effective, research-based primary prevention and education program for families with young children. Our mission is to help parents do an excellent job as their child’s First Teacher. Having a cost-effective and reliable way to provide research-based parenting education available to ALL families with young children is essential, as we know that brain growth is dynamic at this age. We reach a wide number of parents and caregivers with information on health and nutrition, immunizations, positive parenting techniques, and resources. Because First Teacher is universally available, there is no stigma attached to First Teacher.

First Teacher has very specific ways to reach out to parents with current, valid, and tried and true information, provided at a 5th-grade reading level in short articles, both appealing with pictures and illustrations plus a creative layout. Parents expect to receive the newsletter regularly.

We are a primary source of parenting research and information that parents receive with regularity and we have a growing social media presence where we share information and interact with parents and families.
