First Step Recovery Homes

Our mission is to provide supervised, temporary, and safe drug and alcohol free structured housing and recovery support services for persons recovering from the disease of addiction and trying to stay out of the criminal justice system in efforts to create sustainable recovery communities.

First Step Recovery Homes, inc. - Transitional Housing Program is federally funded through Housing and Urban Development and has received numerous awards from private foundations and the county government. The program serves homeless, adult men with chronic substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis who are in need of a structured, supervised and supportive living arrangement. Project participants receive subsidized food and lodging, individualized case management, individualized service plans, mental health guidance and treatment, relapse prevention counseling, twelve-step fellowship meetings, recovery study groups, nutritional and health counseling, structured life skills training, anger management counseling, budgeting and money management training, as well as career and educational counseling. Length of stay is up to 18 months.
