Fletcher Technical Community College (Fletcher) is an open-admission, two-year public institution of higher education dedicated to offering quality technical and academic programs to the citizens of South Louisiana for the purpose of preparing individuals for employment, career advancement, and lifelong learning. Fletcher, established as South Louisiana Trade School in Houma, LA, began providing career and technical training in the surrounding parishes in 1951. In July 2003, the Board of Regents designated this technical college as Fletcher Technical Community College. In this dual role as a technical and community college, Fletcher best serves the community by offering technical certificate, diploma programs, and associate of applied science degree programs that are transferable to four-year universities.
Fletcher Technical Community College's Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program is ranked 8th in the top 10 best RN programs in Louisiana by RegisteredNursing.org. RegisteredNursing.org ranked the top 10 nursing schools in Louisiana by analyzing current and historical NCLEX-RN "pass rates", meaning the percentage of graduates who pass the exam, out of the 25 RN programs in the state. Programs reviewed include schools that offer an Associate in Nursing (ADN/ASN), BSN, or Direct-Entry MSN Degree.
