Frick Art & Historical Center, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Continuing the legacy of Helen Clay Frick, the Frick will offer one of the best experiences of art, history and nature in a welcoming environment that inspires and delights.

Located on the Pittsburgh estate of late-19th-century industrialist Henry Clay Frick, The Frick Pittsburgh is the steward of collections left as a legacy to the people of Pittsburgh by Frick's daughter, Helen Clay Frick. The permanent collections include fine and decorative arts, cars, carriages, historical objects and buildings. These collections are presented in: The Frick Art Museum (founded in 1970); Clayton, the Frick's family home restored as a house museum; and the renovated and expanded Car and Carriage Museum.

Also included on the Frick's nearly six acres of landscaped lawns and gardens are: a state-of-the-art Education Center serving thousands annually; the Grable Visitor Center to help orient visitors to the site and includes a Museum Store; a Community Center; an Alden & Harlow Children's Playhouse; The Café at the Frick; and a large glass Victorian-styled conservatory greenhouse used to grow vegetables for The Café.

More than 125,000 people visit the museum every year, including 14,000 who participate in our wide-ranging educational programs for youth, families, adults and seniors. The Frick presents a full menu of programs and events annually, including 3-4 temporary exhibitions at The Frick Art Museum; a comprehensive slate of education programs; a wide variety of tours and related programs at Clayton; and special programs and performances on Friday evenings during the summer and winter months.
