Established in 2019 by visionary founder Nicole Hayden in Louisville, KY, Friends of Nicole 50/50 Mentoring Collaborative was created to build a robust conduit for Black women to stand as mentors for young Black girls. Our mission is unequivocal: nurturing a vibrant pipeline of mentorship to introduce girls to diverse careers and novel experiences. Our commitment is steadfast in equipping these girls with tools for self-expression through art and the transformative realm of technology and content creation. Our impact reaches JCPS and local community centers, fortifying aspirations both close to home and across the globe.

"Studies show that Black youth who engage in mentorship and artistic expression experience a 55% increase in self-esteem and a 45% improvement in academic performance."

We accomplish this through four key pillars:

1. Equitable Mentorship:

At 50/50 Mentoring, we're dedicated to equitable mentorship for youth of color ages 13 to 24. We forge a nurturing platform for diverse voices, empowering both mentees and mentors through shared understanding. Equitable mentorship not only empowers mentees with guidance and support but also enriches mentors' lives by fostering understanding and connection across diverse experiences.

2. Holistic Skill & Career Development: Art & Tech:

Our second pillar revolves around holistic skill development. We acknowledge the contemporary world's need for a diverse skill set beyond traditional education. By combining art, technology, and mentorship programs, the 50/50 Mentoring Collaborative equips individuals with practical proficiencies essential in today's evolving landscape. This holistic approach ensures participants excel academically, fostering interpersonal, creative, and technological abilities vital for personal and professional growth.

3. Community Engagement and Transformation:

The third pillar emphasizes community engagement and transformation. 50/50 Mentoring generates a ripple effect beyond participants, fostering learning, collaboration, and mutual support through art activism, workshops, exhibitions, and mentorship. This engagement fuels transformative change in both lives and community dynamics. Through wider community engagement, our organization strives to cultivate a culture of learning, collaboration, and mutual support.

4. Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders:

Our commitment transcends geographical boundaries, extending to the immersive Angel's Selfie Museum New Tech Learning Space. Here, the fusion of art, technology, and mentorship converges into a space where innovative ideas flourish. Through art and technology programming, we empower individuals to explore, learn, and create, nurturing cross-cultural understanding and collaboration that transcends oceans.

Join us in shaping a future where mentorship, artistic expression, technological innovation, and global engagement converge to uplift lives and ignite change.

Together, we embark on a journey of shared purpose, propelling us to create a legacy of impact that resonates across the world—from the heart of Louisville to the immersive learning haven at Angel's Selfie New Tech Learning Space.
