The Friends of Normandy School District Foundation is a 501 c (3) independent, not-for-profit corporation established in March 2005. The Friends of Normandy School District Foundation awards scholarships based on merit. It recognizes students in grades four through 12 who:
-Have an attendance record of at least 90 percent of each school year
-Demonstrate grade-level mastery of English Language Arts and Mathematics
-Participate in community service activities
-Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher
-Score 21 or higher on the ACT (grades 11 and 12)
Each year, points are awarded to students who meet or exceed these criteria. Once they reach 12th grade, students are awarded scholarships based on the number of points they've accumulated since the 4th grade. Students may use the funds to support the post-secondary education of their choice, including college/university, technical school, military, etc. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $300,000 to deserving Normandy students.
