Friends of the Winnsboro Animal Shelter

The mission of the Friends of the Winnsboro Animal Shelter, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is to maintain a healthy and high quality of life for the shelter pets while in the care of the Winnsboro Animal Shelter through community education, promoting spay and neutering of cats and dogs and through fundraisers and grants to secure funds for food, vet care, equipment and other necessities for the health, comfort, safety and care of the shelter pets.

We are so grateful for the support of each business, individual and group who have donated to Friends of Winnsboro Animal Shelter over the years!

During 2024, just a few examples of ways our organization was able to help fund & support Winnsboro Animal Shelter include:

* Covered expenses for Winnsboro veterinarian services including spay/neuter, heart worm testing and treatment - $8,500.00
* Through fundraising efforts and donations, FWAS raised over $18,075 to benefit the Winnsboro Animal Shelter
* Allocated $10,000 to begin a FREE spay/neuter program for residents of Winnsboro
* Covered veterinary fees for surgeries on animals that require it, helping our shelter keep euthanasia to a minimum. ($2,000.00/quarterly)
* Keeping the food pantry full with essential pet care items, as well as pet food and cat litter.
We have purchased two stainless steel carts requested for the new facility.
