When you give good things happen at Full Life Care!

Why give to Full Life?

“I donate to Full Life Care because I care, and I support the great work the staff does that enables a more pleasant quality of life for the elderly and the handicapped.

My Mom spent three days a week for three years at Full Life Care Adult Day Health Center prior to her passing in 2013. At Adult Day Health my mom enjoyed a variety of activities and companionship that would not have been possible for me to provide. It was important to me for my mom to be able to live at home and not be institutionalized. Full Life Care made that possible.

Adult Day Health provided me a break from being mom’s full-time caretaker so I could be present for my “other” full-time job three days a week in office with the balance of my hours on a work-from-home basis. Caring for my mother was a privilege and with the support of Full Life Care’s Adult Day Health program she enjoyed companionship from friends, family and staff that would not have been possible otherwise. For that I am so grateful.”

It takes a Caring Team.

“Sharing is caring and the enjoyment I receive through volunteering with older adults is hearing their life stories. It is such a privilege and honor to hold a beautiful space for friendships to unfold. I can’t stress how important it is to our community of elders to have resources like Full Life Care for elders who need all types of personal assistance – which may be as simple as companionship, respite for caregivers, excursions, help with home chores or other things that improve quality of life.

Sharing this experience as part of a care team means having like-minded folks working together to improve the lives of others.”

Tables Were Turned!

“When I experienced a health crisis recently, it was my mother who became my caretaker, and I personally experienced the impact a loving caretaker has on your life, your health, and your general well-being.

I have been active and competitive all my life, so as a retired racquetball champion and coach, I get a thrill from helping others become their best selves while having fun!

Having a truly full life we must include more than just a healthy body. The soul also needs nourishment through, art, nature, and friendships. I see this happening everyday through Full Life Care, so I support FLC with confidence knowing together we are truly making an impact.

I am a proud donor and supporter of Full Life Care!”

Full Life Care Friendships Are Transformational

“I have enjoyed wonderful careers as a city bus driver, a hair stylist, and a railroad brakeman conductor, that gave me the opportunity to travel and live throughout the US. In my retirement, I found a great sense of purpose volunteering with local nonprofit organizations not realizing that I would someday rely on their services and support.

When I received a diagnosis of glaucoma that severely affected my sight and had no family or close friends locally, the medical staff referred me to Full Life Care’s ElderFriends program for friendly support and companionship.

Meeting Crissy Gonzales, Friendly Visiting Supervisor, changed my life. She took time to get to know me and understand my journey. Crissy found an amazing ElderFriend match for me and even though my ElderFriend has recently moved away from Seattle we have a lifelong bond of friendship.

I’m anxiously awaiting news that I have a new ElderFriend match. More volunteers are needed for this wonderful program and Crissy is working very hard to find one for me.

I can’t adequately explain how transformational Full Life Care and ElderFriends has been in my life.”

Life Can Change So Fast

“I was unexpectedly thrown into the role of caretaker and advocate when as a young man my son suffered a permanently disabling illness. Over the years I’ve been focused on advocating for his health care needs and keeping everyone informed and organized.

Finding Full Life Care’s Adult Day Health program brought everything together for my son and for me. Brian enjoys cheering for his favorite teams, staying active, and spending time with his friends. Adult Day Health supports his needs with so many wonderful activities.

Not having in-person activities during Covid was very hard for Brian. He needed more socialization than I could provide, and he started to experience more anxiety.

We were so excited with the reopening of in-person Adult Day Health. Brian’s anxiety has decreased as he’s once again spending time with his ADH friends and the Full Life team. He particularly enjoys the music and art activities that have been incorporated into the program.

I give to Full Life Care because I have witnessed the value of bringing a community together and the unwavering support given to my son as their client and to me as his mother and caretaker.”
