Gate of Hope Ministries International (Commonly known as Gate of Hope) serves refugees in Louisville from East Africa, including Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Democratic Republic of Congo.

We remove barriers to self-sufficiency by providing culturally & linguistically specific services. We offer a welcoming and healing community of hope, break isolation, strengthen refugees' sense of belonging and empower them to thrive as an integral part of our Louisville shared communities.

We create an environment where East African Individuals, families, and communities are educated, equipped, empowered and encouraged to live out spiritually fulfilled, socially connected, and economically stable lives for holistic transformation of their communities.

Our services include the Gosheni Farm & Garden, commonly known as Land of Healing, that offers cross cultural therapy and wellness through farming; sex trafficking prevention education for youth; Christian individual & group trauma counseling; women & single mothers support program for domestic violence survivors; interpretation and translation services; tutoring; US citizenship assistance; driving school; skill development and resource access, among other services.

Gate of Hope also serves in Rwanda, a country about the size of the state of Maryland, focusing on widows of the genocide, people with HIV/AIDS, orphans, and vulnerable children and their families.

Vision Statement:

Through Christ, East Africans and their families will be transformed and their communities developed.
