About Gateway Music Outreach

Gateway Music Outreach believes a child’s zip code should never determine access to high-quality music education or cultural opportunity.

Since 2017, more than 90% of our students have received instrumental music instruction for the first time. These experiences build confidence, discipline, belonging, and measurable achievement for students across St. Louis City AndNorth St. Louis County.

Gateway Music Outreach provides  orchestral instruction, mentorship, performance opportunities, and scholarship access through programs such as Adopt-A-Musician, Jazz Camp for Strings, Young Musicians Workshops, and community concerts.

For Give STL Day 2026, our focus is expanding our Instrument & Access Fund — ensuring that no student misses the opportunity to learn, perform, and grow due to financial barriers.

$25 — Keeps an instrument performance-ready (strings, rosin, bow repairs)

$125 — Provides one month of private instruction for district festival preparation

$250 — Provides new music to our library and method books for instruction.

$500 — Adds a quality violin or cello to our Instrument Inventory

$1,125 — Fully sponsors a student’s school year of instruction and performance access
