The mission of GCRC is to promote the general welfare of persons with intellectually and developmentally disabilities - to provide the way and means whereby each person may have the opportunity to reach his/her full potential according to each one's unique abilities; that each person might be an integral part of home, family and community; thereby giving purpose, meaning and dignity to life.

GCRC is a private nonprofit organization in Safford Arizona. We are governed by a local Board of Directors. Our mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with a developmental disability. This mission is accomplished through a contract with the Arizona Department of Economic Security - Division of Developmental Disabilities. Through this contract GCRC operates several programs. The first is a Supported Employment program that teach program participants basic retail skills with the eventual goal of finding employment outside of the program. The training ground used for this vocational training is the Thrift Store owned and operated by GCRC, where participants are employed and work under the supervision of trained job coaches. The second program offered by GCRC is an adult day program. In the adult day program lower functioning individual work on basic life and pre-employment skills with a goal of eventually transitioning into the employment program. Similar to the adult program is the children's afterschool program. The program serves children ages 6 to 18, working on basic life skills and behavior management. When children reach 18 years of age they transition into either the adult day program or the employment program. Finally GCRC also offers habilitation services to help people develop basic domestic skills and live independent lives.
