As New Orleans' only nonprofit magazine for adolescent girls, we address a wide range of needs associated with the vulnerable teen girl demographic. We cover everything that girls want and need to know about. Our range of topics is intentionally inclusive and developed in close cooperation with our Teen Advisory Council. Created together with girls from all over the city as well as professionals in the community, Geaux Girl! accompanies New Orleans girls as they tackle both the exciting and the difficult parts of transitioning into young womanhood.
Born out of the urgent need for comprehensive sex education in New Orleans, Geaux Girl! teams up with local experts and girls themselves to provide meaningful health information inside a fun, beautiful print and online magazine. By normalizing conversations about reproductive and mental health, Geaux Girl! breaks down stigma and empowers girls to take care of themselves.
Geaux Girl! also offers girls a local outlet for their fierce creativity and curiosity. Targeting girls ages 12-18 from all backgrounds across the New Orleans area, we celebrate diversity and individuality while building a sense of community among girls and women. By giving all girls opportunities to express themselves creatively, make their voices heard, and learn from each other, we are helping foster understanding, inclusion, and belonging. What's more, we are encouraging NOLA girls to become leaders and compassionate citizens.
We deliver free copies of our beautiful glossy print magazine to 100+ locations all over the New Orleans area in collaboration with distribution partners that include public libraries, community centers, youth-serving nonprofits, schools, health clinics, and doctor's offices. All content is also made available via our engaging online magazine. Geaux Girl!'s positive and empowering social media presence further elevates girls' authentic voices and meets their needs.
Beyond the magazine, we partner with other organizations in the community, such as the Louisiana Public Health Institute, to raise awareness and advance initiatives focused on adolescent health, girls' empowerment, and comprehensive sex education.

"I am very inspired by your magazine! It is not easy to find good content for girls that is interesting, empowering and relevant. Your target audience is one that needs and deserves more attention and focus. As a psychologist who sees teens in my practice and as a mother of a 12-year-old girl, I am happy to know you are out there. Thank you!"
-- Arian Elfant, PhD, clinical psychologist
"The variety of articles and the layout and the spunky attitude within the glossy pages are just terrific. My students were SO excited when I passed them out and my colleagues at NOCCA have been buzzing about the magazine as well...
