GLSEN Northeast Ohio

A nonprofit organization

At GLSEN Northeast Ohio, we work to make K-12 schools safer for ALL students regardless of sexual orientation, gender expression or gender identity.

In Northeast Ohio we serve 23 counties by offering Professional Development for Educators and Programs for High School Students.  We support and provide resources for GSAs (Gay-Straight Alliances and other like-minded clubs) as well as host an Annual Youth Conference.  We also support GLSEN's National Days of Action like the National Day of Silence, Ally Week, and No Name Calling Week.

Another role for us in the community is to advocate and/or give referrals for students, parents, teachers, and administrators who may have a question or concern in a K-12 school community.

As a non-profit run solely by volunteers, we rely heavily on personal donations and those from other organizations to support our programs, offering free professional development to schools, student youth leadership teams, cost of space for meetings, annual youth conference, printing of newsletters, and staying visible in the community either as co-sponsors to other's endeavors or through media and publications.
