Affirmations is a community center that offers an inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and cultural backgrounds. The center provides more than 5,000 folks across Michigan with support, acceptance, education, social opportunities, and community engagement.

Affirmations supports a thriving community though:

• Connection: Affirmations offers a safe and inclusive space where LGBTQ individuals and allies can gather, build community, and participate in social activities centered around shared interests. Additional connection opportunities are responsive to community needs and has included activities such as team sports, games, socials, dance classes, and movement-based and creative art-based workshops and opportunities. 
• Programming: Affirmations offers both clinical and non-clinical programming designed to support the well-being of LGBTQ youth and adults. Clinical services include on-site behavioral health counseling provided by licensed professionals, structured therapeutic groups, and individualized case management to connect participants with housing, healthcare, and social services. Non-clinical programming includes mentorship, peer-led support groups, and educational workshops. Youth-specific services offer a combination of recreational activities and access to behavioral health support in a safe and affirming space. These programs aim to address the diverse needs of the community through integrated and accessible care.
• Education & Advocacy: Affirmations offers a wide range of educational and advocacy programs designed to support LGBTQ+ youth and adults. Through both clinical and non-clinical services, the center addresses critical needs related to identity, health, and wellbeing. Affirmations also leads civic engagement efforts and public policy advocacy to promote equity, justice, and inclusive protections for LGBTQ+ individuals across Michigan.

Bayard Rustin Media Center

The center includes a library with a collection of over 6,000 LGBTQ-themed books and a cyber center equipped with 15 modern computer stations available for community use.

Pittmann-Puckett Gallery

This community art gallery features rotating exhibits by LGBTQ and allied artists. It serves as a space for artistic expression, cultural appreciation, and community gathering.
