Today, young people are faced with many challenges. Scouting, by emphasizing ethics and moral values, addresses many of the social concerns of parents and youth in our country. Scouting prepares urban and rural youth to be leaders, to accept responsibility, and to care about principles and causes beyond their own self-interest.

The Golden Spread Council, Boy Scouts of America started in 1917, and currently serves youth from all socioeconomic barriers blurring the lines between income, education and cultural differences. Every youth deserves the right to be a Scout, and in this ever changing world we feel it’s our duty to help provide opportunities to assist the children and families in our communities. These opportunities include esteem-building, academic help, gang and drug resistance support, and hands-on outdoor leadership skills and training. Scouting is anchored in teaching life skills through outdoor activities.

The over 2,000 Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle registered youth need your help to keep the Scouting movement alive and well long into the future. We're asking you to rally with us to create maximum impact on Giving Tuesday!
