As a Ministry of Catholic Charities of St. Louis, Good Shepherd Children and Family Services provides services to moms, babies, youth, and families within the Archdiocese of St. Louis. We stay true to our purpose of connecting children with families and keeping families connected by providing pregnancy and parenting support, foster care programs, and adoption services.

Through our Adoption program we assist families seeking to expand their family through the miracle of adoption, as well as for biological parents wanting to explore making an adoption plan for their child.

Our Foster Care program serves children birth to 21 years old, who are placed in the custody of Missouri Children’s Division due to abuse or neglect.  Our goal is to get the children into a safe environment, help the families heal, and ultimately reunify, but when this is not possible, we work to find children safe, loving, permanent homes.  In 2023, we served 262 foster children through 243 foster homes which are a combination of relative families and non-relative (traditional) foster families.

We have four Pregnancy Resource Centers throughout the Greater St. Louis area.  At each location, pregnant & parenting women can connect with resources like diapers, wipes, and formula, receive pregnancy testing, obtain crisis counseling, and learn about adoption planning services.

Good Shepherd also provides In-Home Pregnancy & Parenting Services to pregnant and newly-parenting women in crisis that provide pro-life based counseling, parent education & resources, and aid aimed at ensuring healthy infants and healthy families.

Our Maternity Shelter and Transitional Living program provides a safe residence on the main Good Shepherd campus in University City that serves pregnant and parenting women age 12-21 who are facing homelessness with their children. The maternity shelter provides 24/7 shelter and care, counseling, parent training, life skill training, nursing and psychiatric services that prepare our moms and kiddos for a productive and healthy future.

THANK YOU for considering Good Shepherd for your Give STL Day contribution. Donations to our organization impacts the lives of moms, children, and families in and around the Greater St. Louis Area.
