The Great Plains Health Care Foundation was established in 1992 by a passionate group of people who wanted to impact healthcare in the North Platte region. The original mission, though the verbiage has changed, remains constant: supporting the healing mission of Great Plains Health and inspiring philanthropy for the sole purpose of enhancing the availability of healthcare services for the patients and communities served by Great Plains Health.
Great Plains Health, in North Platte, Nebraska is a non-profit, fully accredited, 116-bed acute care regional medical center serving west central Nebraska, northern Kansas, and southern South Dakota. Our primary and secondary service area spans approximately 67,000 square miles and serves more than 120,000 people. With 90 physicians representing 30 medical specialties, the Great Plains system offers advanced health care including heart and vascular, neurosurgery, cancer, orthopedic services, and a level III emergency medicine trauma center. The system employs more than 1,200 people and utilizes over 100 volunteers.
"Gifts of all sizes truly make a difference. GPHealth is a community owned hospital and it's 'our' hospital. Your gift really does impact quality and availability of care right here for the people in the North Platte region." ~Leland Poppe, GPHealth Care Foundation past board chairman
"Together, we inspire health and hope, creating a community where everyone receives the care they need and deserve. The generosity of our donors fuels innovation and ensures that Greater Nebraska continues to have access to a broad range of services and world-class care." ~Megan McGown, Foundation director
