$6,000 Goal

For the past fifty years, the Greater Hansville Community Center (GHCC) has been a social hub for residents of the northernmost tip of the North Kitsap Peninsula. The Center has no paid staff and operates on volunteer effort.

GHCC gradually reopened its facility during 2022 after the pandemic.  It provides events almost every month including Tuesday Talks,  an Easter Egg Hunt, Picnic in the Park, Spring and Fall Book Sales, Children's Halloween and Christmas parties and nine monthly Neighborhood Lunches.  Several events generate revenue to support the upkeep of our building. The rest of our budget is funded by a combination of dues, donations and rental income for private functions.  Local non-profit organizations such as the Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club rent the facility at reduced rates.

We awarded approximately $8,000 in scholarships to local students and organized a Food Drive in the Fall in 2022.

Our Tuesday Talks series uses a hybrid format in which some people attend in person while others participate remotely via Zoom. We used a hybrid format for our 2022 Candidates Night where 12 people seeking election to County and State offices responded to prepared questions.
