For the past fifty years, the Greater Hansville Community Center (GHCC) has been a social hub for residents of the northernmost tip of the North Kitsap Peninsula. The Center has no paid staff and operates on volunteer effort. We have renewed our ground lease with the County and are currently obtaining the required permits to replace our septic system.

GHCC provides events almost every month including Tuesday Talks,  an Easter Egg Hunt, the Picnic in the Park, "Junk in the Trunk" (a swap meet), Spring and Fall Book Sales, Children's Halloween and Christmas parties and nine monthly Neighborhood Lunches.  In 2023 a Garden Gala was held at a private residence generated revenue to support the upkeep of our building. The rest of our budget is funded by a combination of dues, donations and rental income from private functions.

Local non-profit organizations such as the Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club and the Hansville Greenway rent the facility at reduced rates. This March we held "Discover Hansville: a Community Open House" in which representatives from both County departments and the non-profits staffed display booths and answered questions from the general public

In 2023 GHCC awarded approximately $8,000 in scholarships to support local college students in their sophomore year and collected  donations of food at our December events. We also act as a fiscal agent for several  small, local, non-profit agencies.

Our Tuesday Talks series has included a collaboration between GHCC and the Little Boston Library in which two published local authors responded to questions from an interviewer and the audience. Most recently we held a session on Emergency Preparedness with the Kitsap Department of Emergency Management.
