Greensburg Hempfield Area Library

The mission is to provide access to written, recorded and electronic materials and also to research sources, facilities and services for the cultural enrichment, education and enjoyment of our patrons.

The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library conducts a Summer Children's Reading Program every year. It conducts over 370 programs with an attendance of over 7500. The programs are free and geared to children from 2 years to 13 years of age. The programs are conducted in the Library, 4 Hempfield Elementary schools, St. Clair Park, and at our Youngwood Library branch. The programs average about 45 minutes in length. The main purpose is to encourage children to read. When they come to the programs, most children do take out books from the Library.
