HandsOn New Orleans

Our mission is to engage, empower, and transform our community through volunteer service. Community is at the heart of everything we do with community revitalization, disaster response services, and volunteer engagement. Real progress happens when businesses, government, and neighbors unite to serve those in need. Volunteering isn't just service; it's purpose in action. We envision an equitable and resilient community with happy, healthy prosperous people.

At HandsOn we listen first. We work at a grassroots level to identify neighborhood leaders who have solutions to their problems but no resources to address them. We fundraise second to purchase supplies and materials on their behalf. Third, we recruit and manage teams of volunteers to create sustainable change. HandsOn leverages its core strengths of design and execution of high-impact community revitalization projects, volunteer engagement, and disaster response services to strengthen families and transform neighborhoods.

To date, HandsOn has engaged 165,000+ volunteers to serve 754,394 hours that created a $29.8M impact in community savings.

HandsOn New Orleans is a local affiliate of the Points of Light Global Network. The organization operates the seven parish metro area through collaborative efforts that promote educational equity in the public school system, improve access to community services and resources, foster healthy lifestyles, sustain the natural and built environment, and assist residents on emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.
