Description

Harmony Hill helps people to redefine the experience of cancer. Harmony Hill's cancer programs provide retreat and workshop participants opportunities for personal insight, emotional healing, and supportive connection.

Harmony Hill’s programs for Healthcare Professionals include: nurse renewal retreats, healing circles, and customized wellness programming for large healthcare providers on building resiliency, stress management, and healing trauma. 

The organization offers a broad range of integrative practices and Wellness programming for the general public, including: on-site and virtual retreats, yoga and healthy movement, Grief and Loss Retreats, and a speaker series featuring well-known authors and thought leaders. 

Our Seattle location, the Orion Center for Integrative Medicine, is a healing, research, and education hub committed to making integrative medicine the standard of care for cancer survivors.  Research and clinical work provides Washington State cancer survivors access to the 10-week empirically supported workshop, "Living SMART with Cancer" as one of the strongest programs of Harmony Hill.

Recognition

Harmony Hill was founded in 1986 by Gretchen Schodde, MN, ARNP, FNP-BC, NC-BC. 

Schodde has received numerous awards for her life's work, including being inducted into the Washington State Nurses Association's Hall of Fame, Distinguished Career and Transformational Pioneer by NWONE- the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, the Humanitarian Award from the University of Washington School of Nursing. In 2015, Gretchen was awarded the Washington State Medal of Merit by the Governor of Washington State.
