On November 4, 1991, the birth of a beautiful baby girl, led to the birth of a ministry. Carolyn Marie, just hours old was found in a little box, wrapped in a t-shirt in the foyer of St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown, CT, by Father Robert Rousseau. Father could not imagine how alone the mother must have been, but also how courageous she was to have the baby and to put her in a safe place to be found. Baby Carolyn was adopted confidentially but her story did not end there. One year later, Carolyn's Place, Inc. opened its doors, with the belief that "No woman should face pregnancy alone." We celebrate 34 years of dedication to helping families by providing pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, peer-counseling, parenting classes, assistance with baby needs such as clothing, diapers, a safe crib, car seat and more. In 2025, Carolyn's Place opened Crossroads Women's Center, a new facility to provide clients with professionally administered pregnancy tests & diagnostic ultrasounds. All services are free. Carolyn's Place does not take any state or federal funds; we are solely supported by the generosity of our donors. We are proud to serve the Greater Waterbury Community and we thank you for your support!
