Hastings Community Music Academy

We strive to create a community where everyone has access to connect through collaborative musical experiences, and to give all people the opportunity to learn and grow with others. To build this community, we will provide affordable music enrichment opportunities for people of all ages via creative music programming.

Since our first class in October 2021, we have served community members ages 3-80 who have all varied in their musical abilities. Our programs and classes have included ukulele for both children and retirees, beginning and advanced community handbell ensembles, sign language choirs, middle school guitar, songwriting and recording classes, elementary and preschool general music, a choir for adults with special needs, community bands, and several others. Many of our participants came together as strangers and left as friends and musical collaborators, which is the power that music has. It influences not only us as individuals, but connects us as a community. Therefore, we strive to be intentional about the musical opportunities we offer so we can continue to build connections within our community, and make positive impacts on the individuals who participate.
