Healing Hoofbeats of CT is a 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to help individuals feel more empowered and secure in their lives through building healthy, mutually beneficial relationships with horses and animals. It is our belief that through learning how to build and maintain these relationships we begin to heal from past experiences, learn how to navigate difficult situations and feel more at peace in our lives.
Healing Hoofbeats is located in Bethlehem, Connecticut at our 7.5 acre farm. We are currently home to three large horses, two miniature ponies, a pig, three goats, a flock of chickens, numerous barn cats & kittens, and a certified therapy dog. We also have a puppy that is currently in training to be certified as a therapy dog. These Animal Healers are as much a part of our clients’ mental health progress and process as our therapists. Since its inception 6 years ago, Healing Hoofbeats has served over 500 clients. Our modality of therapy is called Animal and Equine Supported Psychotherapy and our principal services are providing individual therapy sessions on our farm for clients with one of our five Licensed Therapists.
This year, our Give Local campaign is dedicated to supporting our Operation Warrior Horse Fund, which provides low-cost and free therapy for Veterans. In 2026, we will host two overnight Operation Warrior Horse retreats on our farm. Each retreat costs $800 per Veteran to attend. The Women Veterans Retreat will take place in June 2026 and serve eight participants, followed by the Men’s Overnight Retreat in September for eight participants. To keep these programs free for all Veterans, we are raising $12,000 to cover the full cost of both retreats.
