The Coordinated Care for the Whole Child Program, developed by the Health & Education Alliance of Louisiana (HEAL), is a New Orleans-based, non-profit organization committed to improving our youngest citizens' opportunities for success in school and in life. In order to achieve this goal, we believe that educators and health care providers must address and advance positive physical, social, emotional, and academic development collectively. The "Whole Child" is cared for through preventive health screenings, and behavioral and mental health support systems. We help those children who are at risk of failing academically to overcome unmet physical, behavioral, social, or academic needs that are barriers to their learning.
